I'm impressed by the countless people in Germany who have raised their voice the last two weeks and have taken a clear position against right-wing extremism and xenophobia. That deserves applause. đ Does it need another LinkedIn post that is highlighting that? Yes it does, because it cannot be repeated too often: It is the task of all of us not to look away and position yourself clearly against racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and every form of discrimination, in our everyday life, 365 days per year. #NieWiederIstJetzt

United and Strong Against Right-Wing Extremism â A Sign of HopeYesterday, more than 400,000 people across Germany set a powerful signal against right-wing extremism. This impressive number demonstrates that we stand together for our values: democracy, tolerance, and living together in diversity. In times where right-wing tendencies and ideologies are unfortunately still present, it's even more crucial that we are not led by fear or resignation. Instead, the many people in the streets prove we have the strength and courage to work actively for a better, fairer society.Let us all â in our families, circles of friends, businesses, and society â ensure that the values of equality, respect, and humanity always remain in the foreground. Let's continue to be brave, raise our voices, and prove every day anew that love and unity are more vital than hate and division.#AgainstRight #StrengthenDemocracy #LiveDiversity

Far-right extremism poses a significant threat to democratic institutions, human rights, and social stability. From the historical rise of fascism in Europe to contemporary neo-Nazi movements and populist nationalism, the impact is undeniable. To address this danger effectively, we must focus on promoting education, strengthening democratic institutions, countering hate speech, and supporting marginalized communities. Building resilience against extremist ideologies is crucial in safeguarding our values and promoting a more inclusive society. #politics #farright #farrightextremism #populism

Great article from the son of iconic anti-war protestor, Jerry Rubin."There is a vast divide between genuine antiwar activism, which seeks to prevent conflict and promote dialogue, and the insidious agenda of those who use the rhetoric of peace to justify their support for organizations with violent aims.""...Today, a concerning parallel emerges as the protesters advocating for the destruction of Israel wear masks akin to the KKK, obscuring their identities while promoting a murderous ideology bent on violence and eradication. This resemblance underscores not only the stark contrast in ideologies but also the concerning tactics employed by those who seek to spread hatred and violence.""...Authentic peace activists recognize the importance of dialogue, negotiation, and mutual respect in resolving conflicts. They understand that lasting peace can only be achieved through compromise, understanding, and acknowledgment of the fundamental rights and aspirations of all people, while also rejecting terrorism as a means to achieving political goals."https://lnkd.in/gTMiwe6r

Dear white allies Fascist race riots are spreading across the UK with over 100 planned over the next few days. This is domestic terrorism, itâs islamophobic, racist, and anti-immigrant, and it is appalling. Here are 5 of the actions Iâm taking to support people of colour in my life:1. Reaching out to offer personal support2. Offering myself as an escort to assist people through targeted areas near me3. Paying for Ubers to get people through targeted locations safely 4. Researching rallies and protests in my area (and whether theyâre accessible), and emailing my MP5. Signing myself and my home up as a refuge point for LGBTQ+ asylum seekers whose accommodation is being targeted As a white person, even one who is trans and disabled, the fear and disgust Iâm feeling is nothing compared to the experiences of racially marginalised people in the UK this week. We have to recognise what many already know: our country, and the societies and institutions within it, are deeply, insidiously racist - it has been proven over and over again. Yes, itâs a minority who are engaging in action which meets every element of the definition of domestic terrorism, sure. But how many more people are quietly thinking âgood for themâ? How many more people take no action at all when witnessing this around them, making them part of the problem? And, further, how on earth do the people of colour in our lives know which white person falls into each category? Iâm refusing to be part of this problem, and I hope you do the same. I encourage you to think about what would be most helpful at this time, and do it.

20+Years Fighting Hate, Discrimination & Domestic Extremism

While white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other domestic extremists have been emboldened by Donald Trump's dog whistles to them and the dismal failure of so many in the #RepublicanParty to condemn them, these cowardly members of the neo-Nazi group Blood Tribe nonetheless wore masks to hide their identities while spewing venomous #hate marching through the streets of #Nashville. If they believe their cause is just, they should show their faces. But that wonât happen because they donât want to accept the undoubted backlash facing them from the majority of Americans who are people of good will and who reject their #antisemitism, #racism, #homophopia, #xenophobia and other #bigotry. It's an open question whether the actions of this ilk are in violation of the State of Tennessee's little known "#CivilRights #Intimidation" law, which bars "a person [from] wear[ing] a mask or disguise with ... " certain requisite intents. (#Tennessee Code §39-17-309(c))I surely hope that local #lawenforcement is thoroughly investigating whether a violation has occurred. Everything must be done within the limits of the law to contain dangerous, hateful #extremism. #hatecrime #haters #criminaljustice #equality #whitesupremacy #nazis #nazism #freespeech #firstamendment #lgbt #lgbtqia #criminallaw #fbi #prosecutors #investigation #investigations

Racism has no place in our society. The recent announcement by Karamba Diaby, the first African-born MP in the German parliament, that he will not stand in next yearâs federal election highlights the challenges still faced by many. Despite receiving hate mail, racist slurs, and death threats, Diaby remained steadfast in his mission until his recent decision to stand down. Even when Mr. Diaby claims that racism was "not the main reason" for his decision, his story unmasks how racism still runs deep in society, even when it is not directly visible. It is happening right now and impacting people's lives - not just in politics but in all sectors. Organizations can play a crucial role in continuously pushing for social change. By implementing robust diversity and inclusion policies, encouraging diverse leadership, ensuring representation at all levels, providing regular training on unconscious bias, and creating safe channels for employees to report discrimination, companies can (and must) do their part. As Karamba Diaby stands down, Germany loses representativity in politics. But this does not have to be the end of the story. Together, we can build a society where diversity is celebrated and valued. #Diversity #Inclusion #EndRacism #StandTogether
